Gone With the Wind Comes to 4K Ultra HD for First Time Ever
Gone With the Wind will be released on 4K Ultra HD for the first time, in a Steelbook edition due on 3 November. The remastered release adds improved picture and sound alongside new special features, extending the availability of a historically significant but often debated Hollywood film on physical media.
Set during the US Civil War and Reconstruction, the film follows Scarlett O’Hara’s relationships with Ashley Wilkes and Rhett Butler. Adjusted for inflation, it remains the highest-grossing film in US box-office history; it won 10 Oscars, including Hattie McDaniel’s landmark supporting-performance award, and joined the National Film Registry in 1989.
