Google is reportedly preparing to launch a ‘Pixel Tag’, an item tracker resembling Apple’s AirTag that could help users locate possessions through Google’s Find Hub network. Its appearance ahead of Google’s 12 August hardware event suggests it may join the company’s forthcoming Pixel device announcements, expanding Google’s hardware ecosystem into tracking accessories.

An image obtained by 9to5Google shows a small oval device, while a Slovenian retailer listing describes it as a compact tracker for keys, wallets and luggage. The listing says it includes a loud speaker for nearby searches, uses Google’s secure device-finding network and is designed with privacy in mind; Google had not commented at the time of publication. References to a Pixel Tag had also appeared in early Pixel 11 listings, despite no existing Google tracker currently being available.
