Google has begun rolling out real-time voice assistant features for Gmail, Docs, and Keep, letting users manage these apps through spoken conversation rather than typing. Called Gmail Live, Docs Live, and Keep Live, the tools mirror the existing Gemini Live chatbot experience and are designed to make it easier to find or record information hands-free, such as while on the move.

Gmail Live searches an inbox for specific details, such as an event mentioned in an email, and reads back a summarised answer while linking the source messages, supporting follow-up questions and mid-sentence interruptions. Docs Live turns spoken descriptions into structured documents and can draw on Gmail, Drive, Chat and the web with permission, while Keep Live transcribes natural speech into contextualised notes, such as adding shopping list items. First previewed at Google I/O in May, the features are launching globally in English from today: Gmail Live on iOS and Android for Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers; Docs Live on both platforms and Keep Live on Android only, both for Pro and Ultra users; all three are described as "coming soon" for Workspace business customers.
