Google’s Nest Thermostat has hit its best price of the year

The Verge · 1 month ago

Google's 2020 entry-level Nest Thermostat has dropped to $79 in white at Amazon, a $50 discount that The Verge reports is its lowest price so far this year. The deal is aimed at buyers wanting an affordable smart thermostat to help manage cooling costs and lower energy bills without paying for the pricier flagship model.

The thermostat installs quickly and can be controlled remotely through the Google Home app, via schedules, or by voice using Google Assistant, Alexa or another Matter-compatible assistant. It automatically lowers the temperature when you are away, offers a Savings Finder feature for further efficiencies, monitors your HVAC system for faults, and can shift heating and cooling to cleaner or cheaper times via Nest Renew if eligible. As the older entry-level model, however, it lacks some premium features of the latest Nest Learning Thermostat, including automatic schedule learning and support for Nest Temperature Sensors.

  • Google's Nest Thermostat is $79 at Amazon, $50 off.
  • It is the year's best price on the 2020 model.
  • Lacks the flagship's schedule learning and temperature sensor support.
