GREAT WHITE Founder And Guitarist MARK KENDALL Announces ‘Soul Of A Man’ Memoir Deal With DIVERSION BOOKS
Great White founder and guitarist Mark Kendall has signed a deal with Diversion Books for his memoir, *Soul Of A Man: My Life In Great White, From The Stage And Beyond*, due in autumn 2027. The book is intended to look beyond the band’s commercial success and Sunset Strip-era mythology, focusing on Kendall’s personal experiences of addiction, recovery, loss, faith and resilience.
Kendall says the memoir will cover his life from childhood and the Southern California club scene through Great White’s international success, including songs such as “Rock Me” and the Grammy-nominated “Once Bitten, Twice Shy”. It will also address his sobriety, marriage to his wife Bridget and ongoing treatment for Stage IV cancer; he had written 14 chapters by April 2026. The acquisition was led by Diversion Books editor-in-chief Keith Wallman, while literary agent Jeffrey Mangus negotiated the deal.
