Greaves is first woman to reach European Tour event
Beau Greaves has become the first woman to qualify for a PDC European Tour event, adding another milestone to a rapidly growing list of firsts in professional darts. In a qualification double-header in Leicester, the 22-year-old from Doncaster secured places in two tournaments, underlining her emergence as one of the sport's most notable rising stars.
Greaves beat Tom Bissell 6-4 in the European Tour 11 qualifier to reach the Hungarian Darts Trophy in August, then edged Lukas Wenig 6-5 in the European Tour 12 qualifier to book a spot in the Czech Darts Open in September. Her achievement follows a string of landmark results, including becoming the first woman to win a PDC ranking title, beating Michael Smith in April, and the first to hit a nine-dart finish on the PDC ProTour in February. Her next event is the Women's World Matchplay later this month, where she is top seed and aims for a third title, opening against Finland's Kirsi Viinikainen.
