Greaves wins Women’s Matchplay in last-leg decider
Beau Greaves secured her third Women's World Matchplay title by defeating Fallon Sherrock in a tense final that went to the deciding leg. Despite squandering a 5-3 advantage, the top-seeded competitor recovered her composure under pressure and sealed a 6-5 win, with Sherrock pushing hard through the contest at Blackpool's Winter Gardens.
The 22-year-old from Doncaster's triumph caps a landmark year in which she became the first woman to claim a PDC ranking title and hit a nine-dart finish on the professional circuit. Sherrock, who defeated defending champion Lisa Ashton in the semi-finals, came up short in the final for the third year in succession, still chasing her first Matchplay title since the tournament's inception in 2022.
