Green Day have announced the soundtrack to Nimrods, a forthcoming road-trip comedy the band produced with Live Nation, and have shared a new song recorded for the film titled "I'm Never Gonna R.I.P." The movie follows a fictional punk band on a desperate journey to open for Green Day, who appear as themselves, and it marks another expansion of the band's presence into film. The soundtrack and film release together signal a co-ordinated cross-promotional push around the group's back catalogue.

The soundtrack largely comprises older Green Day hits such as "Longview", "Basket Case" and "Wake Me Up When September Ends", alongside tracks from the film's fictional band Analog Dogs and a contribution from cast member Mckenna Grace. The new song, "I'm Never Gonna R.I.P.", is described as a rockabilly-flavoured number that plays on the cadence of Elvis Presley's "Jailhouse Rock". The 30-track soundtrack is due out on 31 July 2026, with the film arriving in cinemas on 14 August 2026.
