The 2017 supernatural novel "Grim Death and Bill the Electrocuted Criminal", written by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola and Thomas E. Sniegoski, is being developed into a television series. The project is being produced by Echoverse, a sci-fi and fantasy audio studio that is expanding into TV after previously turning the book into a well-received audio drama, marking a growing trend of podcast-to-screen adaptations.

The novel follows Bentley, who works for Death avenging people killed before their time in order to free his parents from purgatory, aided by his butler Pym, journalist Gwen and sidekick Bill. Echoverse's earlier audio adaptation starred Cory Michael Smith and Merritt Wever and won several honours, including a 2026 Tribeca Podcast Showcase selection and Communicator Awards for best fiction podcast. The TV series has entered pre-production and could be developed either as a standard show or a short-form vertical format, with Mignola and Sniegoski attached as executive producers.
