Guide: 50+ Digital PS3, PS Vita Games to Buy Before It’s Too Late
Sony is preparing to close the PlayStation Store on two of its legacy platforms, the PS3 and PS Vita, over the coming year, giving owners only a limited window to make final digital purchases. This matters because a number of titles were released solely in digital form, are rare or expensive as physical copies, or were never re-released on PS4 and later consoles, meaning they will effectively become impossible to obtain legitimately once the storefronts shut. Push Square has published a guide highlighting more than 50 recommended PS3 and PS Vita games worth buying before the deadlines pass.
The closures are being rolled out in stages: the PS3 store will shut in Mexico, Honduras and Nicaragua from August 2026, in further Latin American and Middle Eastern countries from late 2026, and in all remaining countries — for both the PS3 and PS Vita — in July 2027. The guide lists titles such as Costume Quest, the Mega Man 9 and 10 revivals, Pac-Man Championship Edition DX, Silent Hill: Book of Memories and various PixelJunk games, with some (including Pain, Rain and The Last Guy) noted as fetching $40–$50 or more physically. Because these older stores do not accept cards or services like PayPal directly, buyers must first add funds to their PS Store wallet — via a browser, PS4 or PS5 — before completing any transactions.
