Guy Ritchie's Young Sherlock has been renewed for a second season, with Game of Thrones stars Indira Varma and Aidan Gillen joining the cast. The series, which reimagines a young, undisciplined Sherlock Holmes years before he becomes Arthur Conan Doyle's celebrated detective, was a breakout hit for Prime Video and marks part of a hugely busy year for Ritchie across film and television.

Also joining Season 2 are Olivia Williams (Monster: The Ed Gein Story, Dune: Prophecy) and Sophie Skelton (Outlander), who will star alongside returning leads Hero Fiennes Tiffin as Sherlock and Dónal Finn. Season one drew 45 million viewers in its first 28 days, ranking among Prime Video's ten most-watched seasons ever, and production on the follow-up has been under way since May, with Ritchie directing the opening episode. The renewal comes as Ritchie also prepares Season 2 of The Gentlemen for Netflix on 3 September, MobLand's second season for Paramount+, and the film Wife and Dog for an October release.
