‘Hacks’ Creators on Their Record-Breaking Emmy Nomination Haul: “Incredible Way to End”
The final season of the HBO Max comedy Hacks has secured a record-breaking 24 Emmy nominations (25 including a nod for the short-form spin-off Hacks: Bit by Bit), the most ever received by a comedy series in Emmy history. The haul surpasses the previous record of 23 nominations, set by The Studio in 2025 and The Bear in 2024, and marks a triumphant send-off for a show that has been a consistent awards contender since it first became eligible in 2021.
Creators Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs and Jen Statsky described the news as "overwhelming" and an "incredible way to end", noting particular pride that many cast and crew members were recognised for the first time. First-time nominees include Megan Stalter, Lauren Weedman and guest star Leslie Bibb, alongside debut nods in makeup and original music and lyrics. The trio also earned writing, directing and best comedy series nominations, with Downs additionally recognised for his supporting acting role. Over its first four seasons the show had already amassed 64 nominations and 12 wins, and the creators now look forward to a two-month run-up to the ceremony spent celebrating with the team.
