Hadjar to miss Dutch Grand Prix with hand injury
Red Bull's Isack Hadjar will miss this weekend's Dutch Grand Prix after breaking his hand, understood to have happened while boxing during the summer break, forcing a chain of driver reshuffles across the team's line-up. Liam Lawson will step up from sister team Racing Bulls to replace him, while Yuki Tsunoda, Red Bull's reserve driver who was dropped from the senior team at the end of last season, will fill Lawson's seat at Racing Bulls. Red Bull have not officially confirmed the moves, saying only that Hadjar is "likely" to miss the race, though a source close to the team confirmed the arrangement to BBC Sport.
The switch gives Lawson a chance to make amends after a difficult start to 2025, when he was demoted to Racing Bulls following two poor races alongside Max Verstappen. It comes during a tough first half of 2026 for Red Bull, with four-time champion Verstappen yet to win a race this season, his best results being second place finishes in Austria and Hungary. Verstappen will race at Zandvoort for the final time this weekend, as the Dutch Grand Prix is set to leave the calendar after this season due to financial difficulties for organisers.
