## Key points

- A Valve composer appears to mention HLX at a public Q&A.
- The clip renews rumours of a new Half-Life game.
- Valve has not confirmed Half-Life 3.

## Summary

The new coverage centres on a GameSoundCon video in which Valve composer and audio artist Mike Morasky appears to mention “HLX” during a Q&A. The clip has renewed speculation about Valve’s next game, but it does not confirm that Half-Life 3 is in development or imminent.

The HLX codename has previously appeared in Steam files, and data miners and leakers believe it may refer to a new single-player Half-Life game. Valve watcher Tyler McVicker shared the video and said he was examining HLX files. Valve’s latest Half-Life release was the VR game Half-Life: Alyx in 2020; the article mentions The Game Awards as a possible place for news, but reports no confirmed announcement.
