Hamburg are reportedly in advanced negotiations to sign Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira for around 10m euros (£8.6m), with Arsenal keen to sell the 26-year-old before Tuesday's transfer deadline. The move would confirm the Portuguese player's failure to break into Arsenal's first-team plans since his big-money move from Porto, and would allow him to return to a club where he already enjoyed success on loan.

Vieira joined Arsenal from Porto in 2022 for £34m but managed only 47 appearances, with just five Premier League starts, before being loaned back to Porto for the 2024-25 season. He then spent last season on loan at Hamburg, impressing with 29 Bundesliga appearances and seven goals, which appears to have paved the way for a permanent switch as this week's deadline approaches.
