Hamish Hamilton, director of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show, says it was his boldest technical gamble despite his extensive experience in major live events. The production used five cinema-lens cameras without backups, creating a high risk that any equipment failure could have disrupted the broadcast; it nevertheless succeeded and received nine Emmy nominations, a record for one Super Bowl halftime performance.

Hamilton described the show as his most deliberately made-for-camera halftime production, combining ambitious visual staging with Puerto Rican and wider pan-Latin American cultural references. It depicted subjects from sugarcane-field workers to everyday life, included an onstage legal wedding and featured appearances by Cardi B, Pedro Pascal and Karol G, plus performances by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin. The production also had to balance the needs of television viewers with visibility for spectators in the stadium, while working around daylight and limited opportunities to conceal equipment or scene changes.
