Tubi is set to exclusively launch Buzzkill, a new horror comedy, on 25 September, marking the latest in the free ad-supported streaming service's growing slate of original and exclusive titles. The film blends the amnesiac, repeating-clue structure of Happy Death Day with the slasher sensibilities of Slumber Party Massacre, whose writer Suzanne Kelly penned the script, and it arrives as Tubi continues to build a library it hopes will rival subscription rivals such as Netflix and HBO Max.

The film stars Siena Agudong and Brec Bassinger, with Aliyah's Interlude also in a key role, and is directed by Jem Gerrard, known for R.L. Stine's Pumpkinhead. According to Tubi's official synopsis, party-girl Nora (Agudong) becomes trapped with a vengeful killer targeting her sorority sisters, and finds that the more intoxicated she gets, the more her hazy memories reveal clues about the murderer's identity. Collider has exclusively debuted the film's first trailer ahead of its premiere, which is timed to coincide with the start of autumn.
