Magnolia, a five-month-old tuxedo kitten stolen from a Maryland pet shop and taken to a bank during an attempted robbery, has been adopted and is now living in a permanent home. The case drew attention because the kitten was inadvertently used in an alleged crime, but she was unharmed and has since returned to an ordinary domestic life.

Police arrested 19-year-old Jacob Loethen after the incident at a Beltsville bank, where he allegedly asked a manager to hold Magnolia before passing a note demanding cash. He was charged with robbery, second-degree assault and attempted theft; Magnolia later attracted 21 adoption applications, but the rescue chose Kaylei Roldan, who had applied before the incident, partly to join her existing tuxedo cat, Kuro.
