A man and a woman have been arrested more than 18 months after 21-year-old Aiden Zeallor was fatally shot while driving home from a night out in Pennsylvania. Zeallor was not the intended target of the gunfire, which came from a nearby vehicle, but two stray bullets pierced his windscreen and struck him, killing him. The case has drawn renewed attention as his family, who had waited a long time for any breakthrough, say the arrests bring some relief even though nothing can undo their loss.

Alondra M Lopez, 28, and Joseph G Toledo-Gonzalez, 27, have been charged with murder, attempted murder and related offences and are being held without bail ahead of a preliminary hearing on 14 September. Police say the shots, fired from a semiautomatic rifle at around 2.30am on 29 March 2025, were actually aimed at another car on Interstate 95, whose driver survived with a leg wound; Zeallor, driving his red Ford Mustang, was struck in the eye and torso and died in hospital that morning. Court papers give few details of the suspects' role or motive but note both were barred from possessing firearms at the time. Zeallor's mother, Denise Donahue, is campaigning for "Aiden's Law" to install highway surveillance cameras, and has highlighted that her son's organ donations saved four lives after his death.
