## Summary

Harry Kane has called on his England team-mates to stop merely discussing ambitions of winning major trophies and instead focus on actually delivering, after the squad suffered another exit at the 2026 World Cup. The captain's comments come amid renewed scrutiny of England's persistent failure to convert talent and expectation into silverware, with the latest disappointment reigniting familiar questions about the team's mentality under manager Thomas Tuchel.

The tournament ultimately ended in glory for Spain, who beat Argentina 1-0 after extra time in the final thanks to a Ferran Torres goal, leaving Lionel Messi to end his World Cup career without the trophy. Reports on England's own campaign point to a difficult few weeks behind the scenes, citing player exhaustion, dressing-room frustration over defensive tactics, and heated moments involving Tuchel, all of which contributed to England falling short yet again.
