‘Harry Potter’ HBO Series Casts Dobby, Ginny Weasley and Tom Riddle for ‘Chamber of Secrets’ Season 2
HBO has revealed further casting for the second season of its "Harry Potter" television series, adding Lenny Rush as Dobby, Bonnie Hill as Ginny Weasley and Billy Barratt as Tom Riddle. Hill takes over the role of Ginny from Gracie Cochrane, who played the character in the first season but has left the production owing to "unforeseen circumstances." The announcement comes as the show's second run, adapting "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," moves into pre-production.
Season one of the series has finished filming and is due to premiere on HBO on 25 December, with the follow-up season currently being prepared at Leavesden Studios near London. The wider cast includes Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, alongside John Lithgow, Janet McTeer, Paapa Essiedu and Nick Frost in senior roles. The series is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner, with J.K. Rowling among the executive producers alongside Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts and David Heyman.
