Harry Potter Officially Sets Theatrical Return With Unseen Content Ahead of HBO Reboot
Warner Bros. Discovery is bringing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone back to cinemas worldwide from 27 August to 3 September 2026, marking the 25th anniversary of the franchise's debut and forming part of the studio's "Back to Hogwarts" celebrations. The re-release comes ahead of the upcoming HBO television reboot, suggesting an effort to re-engage fans and stoke fresh interest in the franchise as it transitions to the small screen.
The theatrical run will feature 12 minutes of previously unseen behind-the-scenes footage making its cinema debut, alongside screenings of all eight original Harry Potter films during the week-long event. Tickets for the celebration go on sale from 31 July.
