Tom Felton’s sci-fi action thriller Altered has become a global streaming success on HBO Max, reaching sixth place on the platform’s worldwide chart. The film’s popularity marks a notable post-Harry Potter moment for Felton, whose character trades the world of Hogwarts for a dystopian society divided by genetic enhancement.

The 87-minute film, directed by Timo Vuorensola, is set in an alternate present where people unable to access genetic improvements are forced underground and join a dangerous resistance. Released in cinemas in November 2025, Altered now streams alongside larger titles such as Supergirl and Hamnet, despite receiving extremely poor reviews: 10% from critics and 12% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.
