The gesture, which ran from Sunday 9 August through Monday 10 August, prompted long queues and a wave of social media posts showing receipts printed with the singer's name and the tour title, underscoring how the pop star has cultivated goodwill with local audiences throughout the global trek.

The free churros followed similar gifts on other legs of the tour, including complimentary drinks in Amsterdam, flowers in London and traditional Bonfim ribbons in Brazil. Styles's Mexico City shows ran from 31 July with further dates on 1, 4, 7 and 8 August, and were notable for Spanish-language flourishes, including a Mexican "sonidero" interlude during "Italian Girls" that went viral online. The residency concluded on the Monday night, after which the tour is set to continue to other cities, including New York.
