Hasan hits Bangladesh’s first century in Australia
Tanzid Hasan Tamim scored Bangladesh’s first Test century in Australia as the tourists built a commanding position against the hosts on day two of the first Test in Darwin. His innings helped Bangladesh take a 153-run lead, challenging Australia’s unbeaten home Test record against the Tigers.
Playing only his second Test, Tanzid made 101 from 197 balls after Bangladesh had bowled Australia out for 198 on the opening day. He shared key partnerships with Mominul Haque (49) and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto (84), before Bangladesh reached 351-6; Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Hasan Mahmud added an unbeaten 43 late on.
