Twitch streamer Hasan Piker has blamed AIPAC for Democratic criticism of his recent comments about American Jews and Israel, calling the response coordinated and linking it to the group’s political influence. The dispute matters because senior Democratic figures say his remarks repeated antisemitic tropes and risked excusing anti-Jewish violence amid heightened concern about antisemitism.

During a livestream, Piker said that American Jews’ perceived singular investment in Israel could lead someone to act against them; he later urged people to calculate AIPAC donations received by Democrats who condemned him. Senators Cory Booker, Elissa Slotkin and Jacky Rosen, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, several representatives, and Democratic National Committee chair Ken Martin criticised the comments; Rosen called them a “new low”, while Jeffries said they were dangerous and antisemitic. Democratic Majority for Israel described Piker’s claim of AIPAC involvement as a baseless conspiracy theory.
