Hayden Panettiere’s ‘Heroes’ Dad Calls Out ‘Predatory’ Paparazzi Who ‘Hunted’ Her and the Press Who Asked ‘Misogynistic’ Questions When She Was a Teen

Jack Coleman, who played Hayden Panettiere's father Noah Bennet on "Heroes," posted an emotional tribute condemning the paparazzi and press treatment his co-star endured as a teenage star, following her death this week at the age of 36. Coleman described her as being "hunted" by photographers and subjected to "misogynistic provocations" from journalists, highlighting the toll of early fame on young performers.

In his Instagram post, Coleman recalled that by the age of 17, Panettiere was ranked number one on IMDB Pro yet was routinely asked "obnoxious questions" about when she would "go off the rails." He described paparazzi hiding in bushes and driving onto neighbours' lawns to photograph her, calling them "predatory," and said he was now filled with "sorrow and regret" and anger. His tribute joins others from "Heroes" co-stars, including Sendhil Ramamurthy and series creator Tim Kring, who have also paid public respects to Panettiere since her death was announced.
