Haywire Throw $5,000 into the Pit to Celebrate New Album
Boston hardcore band Haywire marked their signing to Roadrunner Records by throwing $5,000 in cash into the crowd during their set at Sound and Fury festival last weekend. The stunt coincided with the announcement of their debut album on the label, I Don't Wanna Say Goodbye, due out on 2 October, and forms the opening scene of the music video for its lead single, "Interstate Love Affair", which leans into chaotic early-2000s MTV-style visuals including firecrackers and hotel-trashing antics.
Formed in 2023, Haywire have built a reputation for relentless touring, including a 96-date run across all 50 US states in 100 days in 2024, and currently have more than 250 future shows booked. They are due to support Turnstile and the Circle Jerks this autumn. The new record, their sixth in three years following 2024's Conditioned for Demolition, was produced by Citizen's Mat Kerekes, mixed by Taylor Young, and features guest appearances from members of NOTHING and the Aggrolites.
