Masters of the Universe, Travis Knight's big-screen adaptation of the classic 1980s toy line, is heading to Prime Video from Wednesday 22 July, marking the end of its theatrical run. The film underperformed at the box office relative to its budget, but its digital arrival gives it a second chance to find an audience among fans of the franchise and blockbuster fantasy fare more broadly.

Directed by Knight (Bumblebee) from a script by Chris Butler, the film opened at number two behind Scary Movie and grossed $113 million against a reported $170 million budget. Despite the soft commercial performance, reviews were relatively positive, with the film holding a 68% "Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes; Collider's own review called it "a good time if you leave your cynicism at the door."
