Hear U2’s Joyous New Single ‘Street of Dreams’ From Upcoming Studio Album
U2 have released "Street of Dreams", the lead single from their forthcoming studio album, which is due out before the end of 2026. Produced by longtime collaborator Jacknife Lee, the joyful, anthemic track marks the band's first proper album of new material since 2017's Songs of Experience, making it a significant moment for their fans.
The single's video was filmed in Mexico City near the Plaza Santo Domingo during a rainstorm, while the band were in town for the Street Child World Cup, with a local family inviting them onto their balcony after the generator failed. Bono has described the still-untitled album as a "noisy, messy, unreasonably colorful" record made to be played live, framing rock and roll as "an act of resistance". Drummer Larry Mullen Jr., who sat out the band's Sphere residency after neck surgery, has returned for the sessions, and the album arrives as U2 approach the 50th anniversary of their formation in late September.
