A neighbour's security camera captured a Florida couple violently hitting, kicking and slamming their two French bulldogs against a fence shortly after National Dog Day, leading to their arrest on animal cruelty charges. Charolette Dellinger and David Neely, both 57, were taken into custody after Santa Rosa County Sheriff's officials reviewed the footage, and their dogs have since been removed from their care and placed with Santa Rosa County Animal Services while the investigation continues.

Neighbour Annabel Morris said she heard the commotion, filmed the incident on her phone, called animal services, and later discovered her home security camera had also recorded the abuse. Dellinger and Neely were released on Saturday on a combined bond of $15,000, and officials say the dogs' future, including possible adoption, will depend on how the ongoing criminal case unfolds. A sheriff's official noted a recent rise in animal cruelty cases in the area, while Animal Services thanked residents for coming forward with evidence.
