Brady Harmon, the father of four children allegedly killed by their mother and grandmother in New York, is seeking $400 million from local authorities and other organisations. His legal notice claims agencies ignored years of warning signs and failed to protect the children, who investigators say were drugged before the June murder-suicide. The case matters because it raises questions about whether schools, child-protection services and other authorities responded adequately to suspected abuse.

Harmon alleges that Sarah Myers and Amy Steadman repeatedly gave the children substances including melatonin, Benadryl and kratom, and that one 2024 incident involving suspected opioid exposure should have prompted stronger intervention. He also claims his children were isolated through homeschooling, denied appropriate medical care and that information was withheld from him during a custody dispute. Harmon had not seen them since 2019, but was preparing to have them visit him in Utah when the killings occurred.
