## Key points

- Copper wire theft disrupted East Union’s stadium lighting.
- The team’s senior night game was relocated.
- East Union lost to Manteca 49-0.

## Summary

East Union High School had to move its senior night football game at short notice after copper wiring was stolen from its California stadium, disrupting the lighting. The change upset players and families who had expected to mark the seniors’ final regular-season home game there, including relatives who had travelled from out of state.

The Manteca Unified School District said the theft affected the stadium’s lighting and that the game was moved to another district stadium. It was coordinating with local law enforcement while staff worked to repair the damage, but gave no timeline for reopening the venue. East Union then lost to Manteca 49-0.
