## Summary

A Southern California family has been reunited with Corduroy, their Cocker Spaniel, seven years after he disappeared during their move from Los Angeles to San Diego. His return brought particular joy to the family’s young daughter, who had been especially close to him.

Corduroy was found at LA Animal Services’ North Central Animal Shelter last month, and staff used his microchip to identify and contact his family. They travelled from San Diego to collect him. LA Animal Services says microchips can help return lost pets even years later, and offers microchipping at its six centres for $15, without an appointment.
