‘Hercules’ star Kevin Sorbo says California can keep its taxes, traffic and ‘negativity’: ‘I’m done’
Actor Kevin Sorbo has reaffirmed he has no plans to return to California, nearly seven years after relocating to Florida, citing "taxes, traffic and negativity" as his reasons for staying away. Speaking to Fox News Digital while promoting his new faith-based film "Elijah Peel," Sorbo said the move gave him a sense of "acceptance" he felt was harder to find in California, despite missing aspects of his old life there such as the mild weather and his former home in Westlake Village.
Sorbo also criticised Hollywood's treatment of conservatives and Christians, likening the industry's alleged "blacklisting" of such figures to "seventh grade mean girls" behaviour, and said he has previously been "cancelled" for his views. He pointed to strong support from the independent film community and his own production company, Sorbo Studios, as evidence that faith-based films no longer need Hollywood's backing, claiming around 80 million American households want the kind of movies he makes. "Elijah Peel," in which Sorbo plays a talent manager, is executive produced by Duck Dynasty's Willie and Korie Robertson and follows a rock star confronting addiction after a near-fatal heart attack.
