In the post, the 33-year-old vented that she has "the tea" on other stars but nobody covers it, whereas her own life is picked apart in detail, saying "I can't even piss in a motherf***ing cup." She followed up on X, writing "I understand Britney Spears," an apparent reference to the paparazzi intrusion and mental health struggles Spears endured in the 2000s, before her conservatorship (2008–2021). The comments come amid heavy speculation about Cardi's love life, after she was seen in Paris for Fashion Week and later spotted dining in Venice with Nigerian footballer Maduka Okoye. Despite differing genres and eras, Billboard notes both women share commercial success, each having scored five Billboard Hot 100 number-one hits.
