Daniel Weyman, who plays Gandalf in The Rings of Power, says the character will have fully “arrived” by the third season and become closer to the familiar wizard portrayed in The Lord of the Rings. The comments suggest the series is moving Gandalf beyond his earlier uncertainty and towards a more recognisable, powerful role, which may reassure viewers looking for a stronger link to the film trilogy.

Weyman said Gandalf is now “in his power” and will be the wizard audiences “hopefully know and love”. The character has so far been shown earlier in his development in Amazon’s Second Age story, while the better-known version appears thousands of years later in J.R.R. Tolkien’s wider chronology. Season 3 is expected to continue the escalating conflict involving Sauron and the Rings of Power.
