An anime adaptation of manga series "Hirayasumi" has been unveiled ahead of its January 2027 debut on Japan's NHK General TV. The announcement includes new footage, a key visual and the principal voice cast, with production handled by studio +h. The manga, which began serialisation in 2021, has become a significant commercial and critical success, with over 1.7 million copies sold worldwide and recognition including the Shogakukan Manga Award and best serial comic at Lucca Comics & Games 2024.

The story follows Hiroto, a relaxed 29-year-old part-timer living in Tokyo's Asagaya neighbourhood, and centres on his relationships with his elderly neighbour Granny, his cousin Natsumi who arrives to study art, and their close friends. The voice cast includes Uchida Yuma as Hiroto (known for roles in "Jujutsu Kaisen" and "Blue Lock"), Takahashi Mayu as Natsumi, and veteran performer Aikawa Rikako as Granny. The creative team comprises director Suezawa Kei, character designer Asano Naoyuki, and composer Sawada Kaori. International streaming arrangements have not yet been announced.
