Hollywood veterans Jeffrey Schenck, Barry Barnholtz and Peter Sullivan have launched vertTV, a subscription platform and filmmaker-led studio producing vertical, mobile-optimised "micro-series" aimed at on-the-go viewers. The launch adds to the fast-growing vertical content sector, positioning vertTV as a studio that controls its entire production pipeline in-house, from writing and filming through to distribution, while also pursuing partnerships with outside producers and library holders.

The platform launched via a standalone app for iOS and Android, alongside a YouTube channel offering free previews, with content organised into genre-based categories such as drama/thriller, romance and holiday. Its debut slate includes over 200 titles, starting with "Lone Star Hearts" starring Cindy Busby and Josh Henderson, and featuring a reunion of "Fuller House" cast members Marla Sokoloff, Jodie Sweetin and John Brotherton, alongside other recognisable names including Vivica A. Fox and Richard Karn. The founders previously worked together at Hybrid, where they produced hit films such as "Secret Obsession" and Hallmark's "Christmas," and vertTV plans to introduce ad-supported and pay-per-title options after launch.
