Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of an eight-month-old baby girl in Redan, near Ballarat, Victoria. Emergency services found her unresponsive at a Leith Street property on Sunday, and police have said the circumstances remain unclear.

Paramedics performed CPR before taking the baby to a Ballarat hospital shortly after 1pm, where she later died. Police have interviewed a 23-year-old man, who was released pending further inquiries, and are appealing for information from the public.
