Marvel is expanding its Avengers: Armageddon crossover with Black Panther/Namor: Doomed, a five-issue spin-off centred on T’Challa, Namor and the spirit of Doctor Doom. The series matters because it will feed into Marvel’s largest 2026 storyline while aiming to tell a self-contained character drama involving three longstanding rival monarchs.

Written by Ethan S. Parker and Griffin Sheridan, with art by Stefano Nesi, the comic begins after demonic forces attack Atlantis and Namor seeks help from Black Panther. The pair are drawn into Hell, where Doom plays an as-yet undisclosed role; issue one is due on 2 September, and the wider Armageddon event also includes the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Wolverine and Red Hulk.
