## Summary

Joe Cruz, played by Joe Miñoso since the first season of *Chicago Fire*, leaves Firehouse 51 in the show’s 300th episode. After a spine injury, he has made progress in learning to walk again, but decides to put his growing family’s needs first and move to Minneapolis.

Cruz and his wife Chloe welcome twin girls, Sofia and Elena, while their two sons are also at home. Although a specialist says Cruz may be able to return to work after further rehabilitation, he tells Severide he will not come back to 51 and plans to join a recovery programme in Minnesota, near Chloe’s mother. The episode closes with Cruz visiting the memorial to his late colleague Otis.
