The guide explains how to start and complete The Gilded Gauntlet, a quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker centred on confronting the boyar Ambrus. Players trigger it by provoking him, then travel to Maragir, where he challenges them to a night-time duel; the outcome affects available powers, quest choices and character progression.

Before the fight, players can follow The Bittersweet Toast to poison Ambrus through Lulian Codric, reducing Ambrus’s health, weakening his healing and occasionally stunning him. However, drinking Ambrus’s blood after a poisoned fight also poisons the player; draining his blood grants the Scarlet Shield ability and Corruption, while killing him raises infamy. Either choice yields Ambrus’s sword and legendary armour set.
