Spotify offers Premium users AI-tailored running playlists in select markets
Spotify’s new Running Mode gives Premium subscribers in selected markets AI-generated running playlists on iOS and Android, tailored to workout type and musical tempo. It expands Spotify’s fitness offerings by letting runners choose structured sessions, customise songs and receive optional motivational audio cues, although it does not detect running pace automatically like the discontinued Spotify Running feature.
Users can select workouts such as Intervals, Pyramids, Easy, Long or Advanced, with sessions lasting between 10 and 90 minutes and tempos ranging from 135 to 180 BPM. Playlists cover genres including pop, hip-hop, EDM, country and rock, update daily and can be saved; the Prompted Playlist tool also accepts written requests for more specific song choices, while a 20-minute “Just Run” option provides a simpler starting point.
