- Colin Hitschler’s high standards shape its approach.
- The Bruins have forced 26 turnovers.

## Summary

Colin Hitschler has helped turn UCLA’s defence into a major strength, giving the unbeaten Bruins a platform for a potential first College Football Playoff appearance. His demanding, confrontational coaching style sets a high daily standard, and coach Bob Chesney says the team treats every yard as personal.

UCLA is 8-0 and allows 13.4 points and 260.8 yards per game, ranking tied fifth nationally in scoring defence and seventh in total defence. The Bruins have forced 26 turnovers, rank second in third-down defence, and have conceded an average of seven points over their last five games; they face Minnesota next, whose offence averages 309 yards per game.
