Howard Stern is scaling back his SiriusXM radio show to just one day a week, with new Monday episodes starting 14 September, alongside the launch of a television adaptation on HBO Max airing Thursdays from 17 September. The move marks another step in the veteran broadcaster's long-running shift away from his daily shock-jock format towards a more interview-focused, reduced schedule, a transition he has been pursuing for over a decade as he approaches his 73rd birthday in January.

The changes follow reports over the summer that Stern had let go of around a dozen staff members, and SiriusXM has shut down his secondary channel, Howard 101. His main channel, Howard 100, will continue with Monday's new broadcast plus an expanded Wrap Up Wednesday show hosted by Gary Dell'Abate and Jon Hein, supplemented by archival material from Stern's extensive back catalogue.
