Daily Mail · 4 hours ago

A major fire broke out at a waste and recycling facility near Wembley Stadium in north-west London following reports of an apparent explosion. The incident produced substantial smoke, prompting fire crews to advise nearby residents to keep doors and windows closed and stay indoors where possible; it also disrupted Underground and rail services.

Around 125 firefighters and 20 fire engines attended the blaze in Neasden after more than 70 emergency calls shortly after 11.30am. London Fire Brigade said an industrial unit measuring roughly 100m by 150m at a mixed-waste facility was alight, deploying large ladders, drones and high-capacity water equipment; the cause had not yet been established.
