## Key points

- Lexi Stephens won her Battle Round against Marilyn Hucek.
- Adam Levine said Stephens could win The Voice.
- Coaches praised both singers’ contrasting styles.

## Summary

Lexi Stephens won her Battle Round performance against fellow Team Adam singer Marilyn Hucek on The Voice, after the pair sang Paramore’s “All I Wanted”. Coach Adam Levine chose Stephens, saying he believed she could win the competition and describing her as a possible finalist. The result matters because it keeps Stephens in the contest and signals Levine’s confidence in her ability.

The singers received praise from the panel for their contrasting strengths: Stephens for her range, lower register and powerful presence, and Hucek for her distinctive tone, grit and vibrato. Levine said Hucek had improved greatly since rehearsals and acknowledged that she had “crushed it”, but followed his instinct to pick Stephens. Adviser Alex Warren also praised the contestants during rehearsals, while the other coaches highlighted their individual styles.
