I quite fancy a Slate EV in a Crayola crayon color
Barebones electric vehicle maker Slate has partnered with crayon brand Crayola to offer buyers colourful wrap options for its affordable EV truck, which until now has been available only in a black or greyish finish. The tie-up matters because it plays to Slate's core selling point: a stripped-back, customisable vehicle designed from the outset to be personalised on top of the base model.
The collaboration introduces five wraps in Crayola shades — Cerulean (blue), Dandelion (yellow), Fern (green), Razzmatazz (pink) and Jersey Tomato (red). Opting for a Crayola starter pack also brings a key fob cap, a clip-on dashboard "Slatelet" icon and complimentary decals. Buyers must first pre-order the vehicle with a $300 deposit, after which a chosen wrap can be selected via the Slate Marketplace for $1,550.
