I Want Your Sex Review

IGN · 4 hours ago

Gregg Araki’s I Want Your Sex follows Elliot, a Gen Z assistant whose new job with provocative artist Erika Tracy develops into an intense sexual relationship. The review finds the film entertaining and distinctive, particularly in its early exploration of desire, power and generational attitudes towards sex, but judges it weaker than Araki’s best work because its later plot developments are less convincing.

Olivia Wilde is praised as the controlled, enigmatic Erika, while Cooper Hoffman’s approachable performance makes Elliot sympathetic as he is drawn into her world. The reviewer highlights a threesome-related sequence involving Chase Sui Wonders as the film’s funniest and most effective set piece, with Daveed Diggs also providing comic support; however, the police-interview framing device and third-act revelations are described as rushed and less engaging.

  • Strong early scenes cannot sustain the film’s momentum.
  • Wilde and Hoffman are well cast.
  • The third act is the main weakness.
